Tschudi Commences Copper Production in Namibia

Base metal mining company Tschudi (part of Weatherly International, situated 20 kilometres west of Tsumeb) is set to commence its copper production in Namibia this February – months ahead of schedule. “The Tschudi team has taken great strides over the last few weeks in delivering the project ahead of schedule and on budget. Tschudi, once in operation, will deliver significant benefit to our shareholders,” Chairperson John Bryant adds.

Tschudi, an Aim-listed company, is expected to produce 187 000 tons of copper over the next eleven years and will create over 500 jobs. CEO Rod Webster comments: “The crushing and processing plant is now in full operation and functioning effectively. We are using a proven technology to extract high-grade copper in a low-cost operation.”
